Ion Voicu

Ion Voicu was a Romanian classical violinist, born in Bucharest in 1923, who began performing as a child and trained at the Bucharest Conservatory before embarking on a professional career as a soloist and orchestral leader. His work centred on the classical repertoire with an emphasis on Romanian composers and folk-influenced works, and throughout his career he combined solo performances and recordings with leadership roles in Romanian orchestras and chamber ensembles.
