Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes was an American poet, novelist and playwright born in Joplin, Missouri, in 1902 whose career began in the 1920s. Associated with the Harlem Renaissance, he incorporated jazz and blues rhythms into his verse and wrote about African American life, exploring themes of racial identity, labour and social justice.
