Samm Bennett is an American percussionist, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who began performing in the 1970s and is based in Japan, working across experimental, improvised and indie rock contexts. His work blends extended vocal techniques, unconventional percussion setups, lap-style guitar and looped electronics, evolving from free improvisation into long-term collaborative projects within international experimental and underground scenes and reflecting cross-cultural exchanges between Western avant-garde and contemporary Japanese music.
