Zeena Parkins is an American harpist and composer who emerged from the New York experimental music scene in the early 1980s, working across avant‑garde, contemporary classical and electronic genres. Her work extends the harp's role through prepared and electrified techniques, live electronics and interdisciplinary collaborations, evolving from improvisational roots to encompass composed, electroacoustic and sound‑art practices that have contributed to contemporary approaches to the instrument.
