New York City Opera Orchestra
New York City Opera Orchestra was formed in New York City in 1943 as the resident orchestra of New York City Opera, created to accompany staged operatic productions and concert presentations. Its repertoire encompasses standard operatic works, American opera and 20th- and 21st-century compositions, and the ensemble has adapted its playing style for both traditional productions and contemporary or newly commissioned works within New York's theatre scene.
