John Bennet

John Bennet was an English composer active around the late 16th and early 17th centuries, associated primarily with the madrigal tradition and consort music. His surviving vocal works reflect late Elizabethan practices of expressive text-setting and contrapuntal writing and are studied and performed within the context of the English madrigal repertoire and courtly or domestic music-making.
