Christian Marclay is a Swiss-American visual artist and composer, born in San Rafael, California in 1955, whose career began in the late 1970s and encompasses experimental music, sound art and visual art. Working across turntablism, collage, film and video, he explores the relationship between sound and image, developing a practice that blurs the boundaries between performance, installation and recorded media.
