The Upsetters

The Upsetters are a Jamaican reggae and dub studio band formed in Kingston in the late 1960s as the house backing group assembled by producer Lee "Scratch" Perry. Their work moved from rocksteady and early reggae backing tracks into instrumental dub experiments that emphasised studio effects, tape manipulation and heavy reverb, contributing to the international dissemination of Jamaican musical styles.
