Tony Lakatos is a Hungarian jazz saxophonist who began his professional career in Budapest in the late 1970s and later moved to Germany, performing across small groups and big bands within the European jazz circuit. His playing blends bebop-rooted improvisation with post-bop and contemporary European jazz sensibilities, and across a career of small-group recordings and large-ensemble work he has been an active presence in continental jazz festivals and music education.
