String Quartets, op. 71
Album by Joseph Haydn & Maxwell String Quartet
String Quartets, Op. 71 is a set of three string quartets by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, published in 1793. Musically they exemplify Classical-period quartet writing with conversational interplay between the instruments, clear thematic construction and contrasts of texture, and they occupy a late-middle place in Haydn's quartet output that points toward the more formally refined quartets he produced later in the 1790s.
