Symphony no. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & Kensington Symphony Orchestra & Russell Keable
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905 and first performed in 1908. The work uses large-scale orchestral forces and juxtaposes nocturnal, introspective textures with more exuberant, rhythmically driven music, reflecting Mahler's late-Romantic language and occupying a transitional place in his output between his middle-period works and his final symphonies.
