String Quartets
Album by Leoš Janáček & Melos Quartett
String Quartets is a collection of two string quartets by Czech composer Leoš Janáček, composed in 1923 and 1928. They occupy a late period in his output and are characterised by intense, speech-like melodic contours, bold harmonic language, abrupt rhythmic shifts and folk-inflected motifs, reflecting Janáček's mature experimentation with form and expression in early 20th-century Czech chamber music.
