Symphony No. 5
Album by Anton Bruckner & Jaap van Zweden & Radio Filharmonisch Orkest
Symphony No. 5 is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The work is a large-scale Romantic symphony in B-flat major, characterised by dense contrapuntal textures, expansive slow movements and imposing orchestral climaxes, and it represents a late contribution to Bruckner's symphonic output that probes structural breadth and polyphonic complexity within his evolving style.
