Roman Trilogy

Album by Ottorino Respighi & Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI & Robert Treviño

Roman Trilogy is a collection of orchestral tone poems by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, composed between 1916 and 1928. The works are characterised by colourful orchestration, large symphonic forces and programmematic depictions of Rome, blending late-Romantic harmonic language with neo-classical clarity and representing a defining phase in Respighi’s contribution to early 20th-century Italian orchestral music.
