Sonatas

Sonatas are a collection of keyboard sonatas by Italian composer Domenico Scarlatti, composed primarily in the 1730s. They are short, single-movement Baroque pieces characterised by inventive keyboard figurations, Iberian rhythms and frequent hand-crossing techniques, representing a major development in keyboard technique and style and forming a central part of Scarlatti's mature output and the wider keyboard repertoire.
