Alabama Concerto
Album by John Benson Brooks & Cannonball Adderley & Art Farmer
Alabama Concerto is an album by American jazz pianist and composer John Benson Brooks, released in 1958. It blends Southern folk material with modern jazz harmony and improvisation and uses modal and blues-inflected textures within an extended suite structure, and it came at a point when Brooks moved from conventional jazz towards more compositionally focused experimental work.
