String Quartets

Album by Leoš Janáček & Panochovo kvarteto

String Quartets are two chamber works by Czech composer Leoš Janáček, composed in 1923 and 1928. They exemplify Janáček's late style in chamber music, characterised by folk‑inflected modal harmonies, speech‑melody‑derived motifs, jagged textures and rhythmic energy, and occupy an important place in his late‑career output and in early 20th‑century Czech chamber repertoire.
