Le comte Ory is a two-act comic opera by Gioachino Rossini, premiered in 1828. Musically it blends Italian bel canto vocal writing with French operatic and comic conventions, featuring florid, high-register vocal lines, lively ensembles and agile orchestral textures, and it occupies a place near the end of Rossini's stage career as he adapted his style for Parisian audiences.
