Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48 is a serenade for string orchestra by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed in 1880. Scored for string orchestra in a Romantic idiom, it combines classical formal structures with lyrical melodies, varied tempi and rich string colour, and it is characteristic of Tchaikovsky's middle-period writing for strings.
