String Quintets

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Ensemble 415

String Quintets is a set of chamber music works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in the late 18th century (primarily between 1773 and 1790). Scored for the standard string quartet plus an extra viola, they broaden the quartet texture with richer inner voices and contrapuntal interplay and sit within Mozart's mature chamber output as notable examples of his exploration of ensemble sonority and form.
