Manteca / Cool Breeze

This single is by American jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, released in 1947. Recorded during his big-band period, it blends bebop harmonies and improvisation with Afro-Cuban rhythms and percussion, and is an early instance of Latin rhythmic elements entering post-war jazz.
