The Planets is a seven-movement orchestral suite by English composer Gustav Holst, completed in 1916. Characterised by vivid orchestration, strong rhythmic drive and contrasting moods across its movements, the work expanded the expressive palette of early 20th-century orchestral music and marked a defining point in Holst's career in large-scale orchestral composition.
