The Prussian Quartets
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Emerson String Quartet
The Prussian Quartets is a set of three string quartets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1789–1790. Musically they exemplify his late chamber style, combining Classical-era clarity and balanced phrase structure with richer harmonic language and a more prominent cello part, and they occupy a late place in Mozart's output that contributed to the development of the string quartet repertoire.
