Symphony no. 8
Album by Antonín Dvořák & Slovenská filharmónia & Stephen Gunzenhauser
Symphony No. 8 is the eighth symphony by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1889. It is rooted in the late-Romantic orchestral tradition, characterised by lyrical melodies, folk-inflected rhythms and colourful orchestration, and represents a mature point in Dvořák's symphonic output following his earlier nationalistic works and preceding his later internationally oriented compositions.
