Finlandia

Album by Jean Sibelius

Finlandia is a symphonic poem by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, composed in 1899 and revised in 1900. The work is characterised by bold, hymn-like themes, rich orchestral textures and prominent brass and woodwind writing that came to symbolise Finnish national sentiment, and it figured in Sibelius's development as a composer of orchestral tone poems at the turn of the 20th century.
