Goldberg Variations

The Goldberg Variations is a keyboard composition by Johann Sebastian Bach, published in 1741. The work consists of an initial theme followed by 30 variations that explore contrapuntal, harmonic and rhythmic techniques within the Baroque keyboard idiom, and it occupies a significant place in Bach's keyboard oeuvre and in the history of variation form.
