Má vlast

Album by Bedřich Smetana & Česká filharmonie & Václav Neumann

Má vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. Drawing on Bohemian folk-inspired motifs, vivid orchestral colouring and programme-driven depictions of landscapes and legends, the cycle reflects Smetana's late style after the onset of his deafness and occupies a central place in Czech national music and the orchestral repertoire.
