Symphony no. 8

Album by Gustav Mahler & The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square & Utah Symphony & Thierry Fischer

Symphony No. 8 is the eighth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, premiered in 1910. A vast late-Romantic choral symphony scored for expanded orchestra, multiple choirs and soloists, it unfolds in two large parts that juxtapose sacred and secular texts and represents the culmination of Mahler's late symphonic writing and ambition.
