Cello Sonatas

Album by Johannes Brahms & Tanja Tetzlaff & Gunilla Süssmann

Cello Sonatas is a set of two sonatas for cello and piano by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1865 and 1886. The works combine Romantic harmonic language with classical forms, featuring lyrical cello writing and substantial piano textures that reflect Brahms's evolving approach to chamber music and his development from his earlier to his later compositional style.
