Symphony no. 2
Album by Jean Sibelius & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & George Szell
Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, completed and first performed in 1902. The four-movement orchestral work employs late-Romantic harmony, broad melodic arcs and dramatic contrasts, and is often cited as a key work in Sibelius's development as a symphonist and in the consolidation of his national Romantic voice.
