Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by the German composer Johannes Brahms, completed and premiered in 1877. The four-movement Romantic symphony is characterised by its lyrical warmth, pastoral moods and classical structural clarity, and it occupies a place in Brahms's career as a more relaxed, consolatory work following the strenuous effort of his First Symphony.
