Monolith is the sixth studio album by American rock band Kansas, released in 1979. Musically, the album is rooted in progressive rock and arena rock, with extended arrangements, layered keyboards, prominent guitar work and strong vocal harmonies, and it was released as the band's follow-up to a string of mid-1970s albums that broadened their audience.
