The Sorcerer
Album by Arthur Sullivan & W.S. Gilbert
The Sorcerer is a comic opera by Sir Arthur Sullivan, first performed in 1877. Musically it is in the English operetta tradition, with light orchestration, clear melodic lines and brisk comic vocal writing, and it is one of Sullivan's earlier stage works that shaped his approach to later comic operas.
