Cinderella is a ballet by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, composed between 1940 and 1944 and first performed in 1945. The score combines neoclassical melodies, lyrical themes and vivid orchestral colour with dance-driven structures, representing Prokofiev's mature stage writing and his mid-20th-century engagement with theatrical and ballet forms.
