Scheherazade and the Russian Easter Overture are orchestral works by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, both composed in 1888. Scheherazade is a symphonic suite characterised by sweeping orchestral colour and prominent solo lines that evoke storytelling, while the overture draws on liturgical themes and energetic brass and percussion textures, and together they illustrate Rimsky-Korsakov's emphasis on vivid orchestration and their place in the late 19th-century Russian nationalist movement.
