Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by American composer Charles Ives, completed in 1916. The work is a large-scale, highly complex orchestral composition characterised by dense counterpoint, polytonal and polyrhythmic textures and the incorporation of American vernacular material, representing a culmination of Ives's experimental techniques within his orchestral output.
