Scheherazade
Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Boston Symphony Orchestra & Seiji Ozawa
Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The score features vivid, colourful orchestration, modal and exotic-leaning melodies and prominent solo writing within a continuous, narrative-inspired structure, and it occupies an important place in Rimsky-Korsakov's late Romantic output and in the development of programme-like orchestral writing in Russian music.
