Fra Diavolo is an opéra comique by French composer Daniel Auber, premiered in 1830. The work features light, melodious orchestration and spoken dialogue characteristic of the opéra comique tradition, drawing on Italianate lyricism and lively ensembles and occupying an important place in Auber's output and the development of early 19th-century French theatre music.
