Cello Concerto

Album by Edward Elgar & Paul Watkins & BBC Philharmonic & Sir Andrew Davis

The Cello Concerto in E minor is a concerto by English composer Edward Elgar, completed in 1919. The work features a lyrical and melancholic solo cello framed by understated orchestral textures and late-Romantic harmonies, written in the aftermath of the First World War and representing a reflective late-period contribution to Elgar's output and the British cello repertoire.
