Symphony no. 10
Album by Gustav Mahler & Junge Deutsche Philharmonie & Rudolf Barshai
Symphony No. 10 is the tenth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1910–1911 and left unfinished at his death in 1911. It presents Mahler's late-Romantic language with expanded orchestral colour, heightened chromaticism and contrasts between turbulent and intimate textures, occupying a transitional place at the end of his output that points toward twentieth-century developments in harmony and form.
