Self Determination Music is an album by American jazz saxophonist John Carter, released in 1970. Musically it is rooted in free jazz and avant-garde approaches with extended improvisation and a focus on texture and group interaction, and it came during Carter's early period when he explored independent and politically conscious musical directions.
