Four Symphonies
Album by Johannes Brahms & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan
Four Symphonies is a collection of four orchestral symphonies by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed between 1876 and 1885. They exemplify Brahms's late-romantic symphonic style, characterised by rich orchestration, motivic development and formal rigour, and occupy a central place in his mature output and the late nineteenth-century symphonic repertoire.
