Symphony No. 4 (second version 1878/80) is the revised second version of the Fourth Symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, prepared in revisions between 1878 and 1880. The work is a large-scale Romantic orchestral symphony characterised by bold brass fanfares, expansive slow movements and intricate contrapuntal textures, and it occupies a pivotal place in Bruckner's output as he refined his monumental symphonic architecture and expressive language.
