Album by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & The Philadelphia Orchestra & Eugene Ormandy
Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Op. 27 is the second symphony by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, completed in 1907 and premiered in 1908. The work exemplifies late-Romantic orchestration with expansive themes, rich harmonies and sweeping orchestral textures, and it represents a consolidation of Rachmaninoff's symphonic style following his earlier compositions for piano.
