Nocturnes

Nocturnes is a set of solo piano compositions by Frédéric Chopin, published in several groups between 1832 and 1846. They are Romantic piano pieces with lyrical melodies, ornamented lines and rubato over arpeggiated or chordal accompaniment, and they were composed during Chopin's mature years where they helped define the nocturne as a central form in 19th-century piano music.
