Symphony No. 1 is a symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, composed in 1866. It is rooted in the late-Romantic symphonic tradition and has expansive orchestral writing, complex chromatic harmonies, extended developmental passages and prominent brass sonorities, and it occupies an early position in Bruckner's symphonic output as he developed his large-scale structural approach.
