Stabat Mater is a choral-orchestral work by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, composed in 1926. The setting of the traditional Stabat Mater text for soloists, chorus and orchestra interweaves late-Romantic orchestration, modal and chromatic harmonies and hints of folk and Mediterranean colour, and it stands as a key example of Szymanowski's mature shift into richly textured vocal-orchestral writing.
