Má Vlast
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra & Claus Peter Flor
Má vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879 and first performed in full in 1882. The music draws on folk-inspired melodies and rich orchestral colour to evoke landscapes and historical themes, and the cycle serves as a late-career statement in Smetana's output and an example of national Romanticism.

First released: December 2010
