A Sea Symphony
Album by Ralph Vaughan Williams & London Philharmonic Orchestra & London Philharmonic Choir & Sir Adrian Boult & John Cameron & Isobel Baillie
A Sea Symphony is the first choral symphony by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, completed in 1909. The work blends large-scale orchestral writing with chorus and soloists, setting expansive poetic texts in a modal-inflected, late-Romantic idiom that marked a formative step in Vaughan Williams's development and helped establish his voice within early 20th-century British music.
