Polonaises
Album by Fryderyk Chopin & Folke Nauta
Polonaises is a collection of piano compositions by Frédéric Chopin, composed between 1817 and 1846. They adapt the stately triple-time rhythms and dance-derived accents of the Polish polonaise into Romantic solo-piano writing, featuring bold rhythmic drive, expanded harmonic language and virtuosic passagework that trace Chopin's development from his early nationalist pieces to his mature style within 19th-century piano repertoire.
